And then there’s the dark energy — it’s nothing like the Chaos energy he’s used to. The dead look in his eyes. The slouched body posture. Certainly, Mephiles’s story of the future can be true, but his intents aren’t.

You aren’t the only one who is negatively impacted by humanity in the future. In your case, it is a simple take over of the Master Emerald. In Shadow’s, they blame him for every catastrophe that occurs and so lock him up to “prevent damage”. They hunt him down, and although he’s able to avoid their hold for a few years, he’s no match for their advancing technology.
Omega is called to assist with this task, which proves to make it more difficult.
And still, despite knowing all of this, Shadow refuses to assist me with my rising power. Why?
